Responding to requests from aircraft operators and FBOs, Wavepilot added an exciting new feature to its online marketplace for buying and selling aviation fuel. Now, when aircraft operators submit RFQs (request for quotes) to FBOs, they can enter the best price available from their contract fuel company. This feature saves both parties time and money by eliminating the middleman and allowing the operator and the FBO to deal directly.
In today’s competitive environment, FBOs will often match or beat contract fuel prices in order to make the sale. FBOs often lose sales because operators go directly to the FBO’s competitors without giving the FBO the chance to match or beat the contract fuel company’s price. Wavepilot now gives all FBOs the opportunity to actively reach out and negotiate with an operator who might otherwise just taxi by.
Aircraft operators can save thousands of dollars by eliminating the fuel contractor’s mark-up. When operators post their best available contract fuel price on their RFQs, FBOs know the price they have to match or beat to earn the operator’s business. FBOs will often offset the fuel price differences with incentives such as waived ramp fees, free hangar space, and other complimentary services. Wavepilot’s new contract fuel feature broadens the competitive market by bringing otherwise excluded FBOs into the sales process while saving aircraft operators unnecessary middleman expenses.
